LITTLE THINGS (WOODCUT)
The content I consume always has a huge impact on my life and my work as an artist. The movies and shows I watch affect the way I feel and think. It makes me realize my ideologies. This work is inspired by a show LITTLE THINGS on Netflix. It is a show that taught me how you can be in love with someone but also not lose your sense of individuality. People often make this mistake of forgetting who they are and what they want in life just to be with someone but they fail to understand that you can have your own life, your own dreams, and ambitions and still love a person.
I thoroughly enjoyed the process of Printmaking. Carving wood is liberating. The Focus and concentration required as there is no scope for mistakes is exciting. I wanted to capture the vulnerability of the two characters Dhruv and Kavya together, as a couple, but to show how They are individuals who love each other but are also their independent selves, I’ve drawn them on different pieces of wood and left some space in between them while framing the piece.
